About Lars Husby
Lars is a native Washingtonian and hails from the Norwegian of Poulsbo. He was first an Architecture major at the University of Washington and upon discovering clay in a ceramic art course there, changed his major and received both a BFA and an MFA in Ceramic Art from the UW. He also did considerable work in printmaking and mixed media design and picked up a second MFA in Design. During his student years, he worked at the Richard White Gallery and was an assistant in the UW Art Woodshop. Later he taught at the UW, Green River College, Highline College, Edmonds College, and the Factory of Visual Art. In 2006 he had a 2-man exhibition at the Nordic Heritage Museum with BC colleague Dale Lindman, and he is a member of the Northwest Designer Craftsmen. One of his passions is Mesoamerican archaeology and he has traveled extensively in Mexico and Central America, frequently leading small groups on archaeological discovery expeditions that include visits to specialty arts and crafts locales.
